January Meeting Notes Hoppy New year! The Trubmeisters gathered for their first meeting of 2005 at Silver Spring House. We were hosted by Maria. She's the other girlfriend of Steve. Or is it the other Steve's girlfriend? It's one of those anyhow. She let us leave a big mess in their Garden room. It's a very nice room with a great view of the snow covered patio. Really a great place to meet. Maybe we should make this the place every month. Thank You to the Silver Spring House for letting us be there. Maria brought out a few German Oktoberfest beers for everyone to enjoy. They were lighter than expected, but still a decent beer. There were a few homebrews only, since the rule was no commercial beers not purchased on site. Dan had his liquorices beer that had nothing like liquorices in it. It's even better than it was last time we tasted it. Derek brought along some porter and something else. George got a nice shower when he opened one of the porters. It was well carbonated, but still good. Someone else brought a growler, but I don't recall who. It was also very good beer. Rather than repeat that over and over, all the beers were good. Jim and Sue brought along an Elderberry Port. Wow! Nice beverage. There were a couple other beers too I'm sure. We had only three 750ml bottles. Diana and I brought some Black Raspberry Merlot that was sweet and pretty good. Also a bottle of Mint Mead. High alcohol and so sweet that it balanced pretty good. Finally, there was a bottle of our Pyment. Due to a shifted decimal point, it has 10 times too much sulfur flavor in it. :-( Hard to drink much of it, but I'm working through the bottles anyhow. :-) Food was off the menu. We had an assortment of things. I will "review" the Teriyaki Steak sandwich since that's what I had. The bun was a great soft and fresh tasting piece of bread. I'm picky about my bread, so that's a compliment! The steak was very tender and had wonderful taste. The teriyaki flavor was a bit lacking, but the steak was so good, it made up for it. I had onion rings with it. They were huge! Nice sweet onions and not too tough. They were too big for my teeth, so it made it hard to bite once without sucking the onion out of the breading. They were soft enough that 2 or 3 bites did it. Good flavor and over all quite good. I would say the food is well worth the price. We had a cute little raffle. Suzie ... er, I mean Debbie, handed out cards and drew for winners. She made up rules for who won as we went along. That ensured that her pre-planned winners won. Derek got a bar of soap for White Trash. Sue and Steve swapped cards, so Sue won the PMS soap. It would have been better if Steve would have gotten it. Maria won the bitch soap, and I don't remember who won the slut soap, but it was one of the guys! Each bar had 3 usage statements. You should scrub for 30 seconds, 1 minute, or 2 minutes depending on how bad you are. The slut soap was 30 sec if you have sex after the first date, 1 min if you have sex on the first date, and 2 minutes if you don't wait for a date. Use your imagination for the other bars. Thanks Suzie for the raffle items. No big political movements except that Derek is now President for life. He is hosting next month with his former girlfriend Niki at their place. She will be former after she finds out what kind of degenerates he has chosen to hang out with now. Dan had an interesting shirt I want to have for work. If I told you about it, it would ruin the surprise. You'll just have to show up at meetings to find out about it. I don't think we had any new members this month. The normal crowd was there including 2 George's, 2 Steve's, a Tony, a Dan, a Jim, a Jeff, a Derek, a Tom, a Diana, a Debbie, a Maria, a Sue, and a MJ. I want to welcome Tony, Steve, and Maria back after a long break away from us! You've all heard that on a V!agr@ bottle it says if you've had an erection for more than 4 hours you should go to a hospital. Do you know what happens once you get to the hospital? They send you to the Head Nurse! See you all at Derek and Niki's place next month. They will send out directions as we get closer to February. A Good Beer To All, And Too All A Good Beer! Jeff Kane
