Meet the Ho Ho Ho's in December Yet another year has gone by for the Trubmeisters. We got to celebrate it at the home of Ken and Kim. Thank You to both for all the work you did to prepare a place for us to drink and eat Merry. Or is that eat, drink, and be Merry. I think Merry prefers the first one. The food was over flowing. There were chicken wings and little crusty mini pies with seafood or mushrooms in them. The seafood reminded me of Merry, it tasted and smelled GREAT. I saw cucumbers on crackers, crackers with cheesy spread, veggies with 2 kinds of dip (one was nicely hot and spicy), a few dessert items, and a few other things that I am forgetting. The best thing to eat was still Merry! Beverages were in full flowing form as they should be. There were 2 kegs. One was a spiced ale that was oh so yummy. The other was something dark and rich. In bottles were so many things I don't know where to begin. There were at least 3 wines, including one from our newest member, Derek. He had a Chilean Merlot he went to Chile to make and brought it back. I loved it! There were a couple other barely labeled bottles too. None were bad wines. A commercial Port and a young (2000) Burgundy? (very dark red and French) were also available. Steve, you missed out on the Port! Ken/Kim had a Ginger Beer that as so smooth, sweet, and ginger flavored you wouldn't know it wasn't a soda pop. That one was best of show in my opinion. I'm sure others would disagree. There were a couple of growlers and some various other bottles laying around. They included a barley wine that tasted OK, but was a bit on the over active side. Had to open it over the sink. The last thing that stood out in my memory was the hippocras from Jim and Sue. Weird stuff, but very holiday like. The usual suspects were in attendance minus a few who should have been there but refused to make it. Steve made a surprise appearance from his death bed. Wish him a slow and painful recovery. Check the photo's to see what Steve looks like now. Who was that George had with him? It didn't look like Janet. Her aS$ wasn't as nice looking. I heard she was Merry. We had 3 guests. Someone from a hotel called the ymca who had stolen John's shirt showed up. The principal, Ben, came by and sent us all to stand in the corner after making us write "I will drink beer" on the chalk board 100 times each. We may have another new member. His name is Matt, and I think he said he brews. If he didn't, he's going to brew soon. There should be photo's of all of them. I may have missed Derek by himself, but he's got to be in some of the other photos. Debbie was so drunk, she started to caress the Kangaroo Nuts. If you've never had Kangaroo Nuts, you should try them some time. We did get one picture of her as she was licking the Nuts. There was a brass pole in the middle of the room, but none of the women would agree to strip for us. However, we were visited by Santa. Kim begged him to strip so he did. About half way through the women all started throwing dollar bills. They were not throwing them and yelling "take it off", they were saying "Stop! Please! Here's all the dollars I have. Just STOP!" Santa brought Joy and Merry for all. Merry was much better than Joy. Later in the evening, the warmed, spiced mead must have caught up with Kim. She passed out. Since she has no idea what all we did to her, and she reads this letter, I can't say what really happened after that. I can only say that a half hour later Ken asked George not to stroke his wife's port again. Next month is being set up for Silver Spring House or some place like that. Watch your email for details. We still need open houses for winter months. Feb, Mar, Apr, and Nov are still open. We could do Lake Front Fish Fry the First Friday in April like we used to? Other suggestions? A Good Beer To All, And To All A Good Beer! Jeff Kane
