[Trubmeisters] the drunks go MARCHing home last night hurrah Date: 2004-03-05 10:52 Last night was another wonderful gathering of the Trubmeisters. Our thanks go to George and his spirited wife Janet. Although they have a live in relative guest right now they still opened their home to us. We didn't get to trash the basement, but the upstairs was just the right size anyhow. We had 2 new members show up, Tom & Roberta Rischmann. Welcome to our club! We hope you had a good time. We were all on our best behavior last night to try to impress you. ;-) Normally we are a little less reserved. Beer was plentiful once again this month. I know there were 4-5 more that I tasted, but was past caring about taking any more notes. Sorry, but you'll just have to show up and taste them for yourself next month! Here's my notes in the order of tasting. headless horseman ale - its an ipa mead w/ raspberry honey - smooth semi sweet sierra nevada pale ale clone - very close cherry stout - great cherry flavor wollesheim prairie fume 98 - very sweet aged well casa nueva chilean merlot - excellent raspberry ale - great raspberry singha - what can i say? There was a contest for the longest tongue to get cherries out of the bottle. Not sure who won. But there was a quote of the night to go with this. "Of all the people here, her's is the only tongue I've tasted!" Back to the sampling ... great lakes eliot ness - very malty theaksons old peculiar - wasn't shipped well, a bit off flavor Tradition has continued, and the food was more like a meal than a snack bar. She shut everyone up and made us vote on a date for a dinner gathering. For the past 2 years we have had our April meeting somewhere for a sit down pay your own way dinner and entertainment. Instead we will have the meeting as a normal month, and add in an additional Friday night out as a group. The location is still open for suggestions. The date is chosen as April 16th. This date was voted on by repeated voting until it was decided that no one cared to vote any more. So we voted to not vote any more and instead voted to appoint Janet and MJ chair persons extradionaire and let them pick a location and date. Hence, April 16th was declared a non voted day for us to gather at a non committal place. Recap: LET'S ALL MEET AT ON APRIL 16th FOR FOOD AND ENTERTAINMENT. There were some photo's taken this month again. I will try to get them posted on the web site this weekend. I also took a couple of mpg's. They are probably about 5Meg in size, but I will post them anyhow. May be slow downloading, but well worth it since they will give you a taste of the live event. ;-) There was very little debauchery at this meeting. I was almost disappointed until near the very end when the women finally loosened up a bit. It seems Cherry Bounce is the key to a good time. Steve was very mellow all night. I think they finally got his valium prescription right. He didn't take his shirt off even once! Someone broke into my Jeep! They left almost a dozen cases of empty non-cleaned wine bottles. We absolutely have enough to last us for a few years again. I guess I can stop asking for my bottles back. Except that MY bottles are de-labeled already. ;-) If you made it into the living room, you would have seen the photo albums. There was one of George and Janet going back to before they were married. Very entertaining. Especially the photo's of George looking like Shaggy from Scooby Doo. :-) Enough drivel for now. Nothing spectacular happened to twist into a story of great entertaining value. So another month goes by where I don't get to tell you what didn't happen so you can know what really did happen is nothing like what you read in this letter. See you all next month at Dan Pals' home. I'll bet we are having corned beef from his Mother. A Good Beer To All, And To All A Good Beer! Jeff Kane
