[Trubmeisters] Late June Meeting Notes Date: 2003-06-16 13:12 I got in trouble at work. It appears out of 4,000 employees, I am the 9th biggest user of internet email! I have to cut down on my usage, and also am being watched by my new Over Lord very closely. Add to that my phone bill last month while dealing with a house refinance. The title company in California is only open during the day, and with a half brain dead employee doing our refinance ... you get the picture. ;-) Anyhow, I had 2 marks against me. Thought I would take a break for a few days before doing some non-work related stuff. Therefore ... this note is very late and probably missing everything important. Thank You to Jeff and Faye for opening up their beautiful home and 40 acres of yard to our club for this meeting. The drive may be a long one, but well worth it. It surprises me that you take the time to make the rest of our meetings as far as your drive home is. Thanks for being an active member in our club. My youngest son had soccer tryouts, so I ended up being late to the meeting. When I got home, my older brat announced he had a concert that night! So, Diana couldn't attend the meeting since she had to take him and watch him play. I can't tell you what happened earlier on, but will try to cover the late crowd. Food: There was a spread fit for an Army. Lots and lots of brats and some grilled chicken tits. Chips and crackers, cheese and sausages, condiments of every sort laid out buffet style for everyone's snacking pleasure. I recall some rolled up thingies that were tasty. Plenty of food so no one should have been hungry. Beverages: There were only 2 kegs that I recall of. But lots of other beverages. Someone took some berries (5 I was told) and made a penta-berry drink. I think it was like a vodka that was strained through the fruit pulp after soaking it up for a while. Nice smooth stuff. A few wines were available too. I am sure there were beers to sample, but I don't seem to recall what they were. The Reverend showed up even after I did, and brought some samples from Africa. Seems I recall them as decent beverages although light in flavor and color. Body was decent for a foreign beer. ;-) I just don't think of Africa when I think beer, so it was great to taste some real stuff. The hard part was getting over the pictures of old toothless women spitting into the fermenter. Raffle: Rev Ken also brought a bottle opener shaped like a Giraffe's pee-pee (email filter safe?) as a raffle prize from Africa. Betty put her and Brian's name on a dozen pieces of paper. She put them all in hat, and drew her own name out. There were claims of ballot box stuffing, but the homeland security force quickly quelled public opinion and announced that the President's policies are for our own good. We love her so much we believe what she says as 100% accurate truths. Congratulations Betty. We want pictures on the web page of what it is you plan to do with that new tool you won. There was good fire outside. The mosquitoes were hungry for a while, and everyone hid inside. Once it got past the mosquito bed time, a couple people ventured back out. Such a nice night, outside in front of the fire was the place to be. The group was medium sized. That happens in the summer. More people want to host summer months, but less people go to the meetings. We need all you email lurkers out there to start attending meetings. If you don't Betty's homeland security force will visit your home and force you to drink homebrew until you confess that you really drink bud-mil-coor and not tasty malted beverages. Sorry all you fans out there. That is all you get this month. I'm sure Her Majesty will have something more to say once this goes out. So maybe you will get more details then. Just remember whatever she says is what we minions will do. You will comply resistance is futile. See you all next month at George and Janet's up north (AKA out west). Maybe not all, but all are welcome anyhow. If you have kids and trust them, our 13 year old will watch them while the adults enjoy themselves. We are about 20 minutes from G&J's place. Steve will be doing another fireworks show. Don't anyone tell him, but we have the Waushara Sheriff's Dept on call that night. They are gonna show up and haul him away just for the fun of it. We like to see Steve in handcuffs. A Good Beer To All, And To All A Good Beer!
