[Trubmeisters] April Meeting Date: 2003-04-10 08:56 I'm sure you have all thought I didn't attend last Thursday's meeting. I was there, just busy now and hard to find time to write stuff up. It wasn't that exciting anyhow. We went to Lake Front and did a little table hopping. The weather was wonderful and the drive was so pleasant, I was surprised only 20 people showed up! Our coordinator was late, and left the reservations in some cryptic name. It wasn't Trubmeisters or Betty. It was some guy named Brian. Who's he anyhow? They found us a table, and we started to sit down, but the cleaners hadn't hovered over it yet. So we walked away, and a couple of people sat down at our table. They had a hard time keeping it open long enough for us to sit down! Then when we started taking our orders somebody decided we were to ugly looking a group to be near the entrance. They moved us as deeply into the room as possible. We got to sit next to the band so we would only be able to hear our selves, and not the person next to us talking. After a bit of lip reading lessons, we got to take our orders. The food was great, and the beer was also worth drinking. Russ Klish came over and talked to us and asked where the homebrew was. We told him we didn't think we were allowed to bring any. He corrected that, and said to be sure to bring some next time! YEAH! Somewhere along the way, a way ward young man grabbed George from behind and began hugging him. George being the kind of person he is of course encouraged him to do more. After a short embarrassing period of time, he went back to his friends and they all winked at George for the rest of the night. I am much to modest to describe what George's daughter was doing! And his wife just couldn't keep her top on. It was a very interesting evening. Some fellow pushed his way on the stage and knocked the drummer out of the way. He then invited some girl named Carrie up for her birthday serenade. She was obviously partying that night. I'm sure someone got lucky before the night was through. It wasn't any of us though. I think the rest of the Trubs went elsewhere after Lake Front. Our son was a t a school activity and couldn't find a ride home, so we had to leave early. Someone else will have to tell all of the events that followed after we left. Steve has his court date Monday April 21. Be sure to go and support him. If you can be drunk and obnoxious at the hearing, that is best. It is also helpful if you call the Judge a pompous ass as many times as possible. Be sure to remind anyone who will listen very loudly that the US Courts are a farce and the justice system is flawed to it's core. All of these things will help Steve to win his case. ;-) See you all next month at Steve & MJ's. Or At MJ's at least maybe without Steve! A Good Beer To All, And To All A Good Beer. Jeff Kane
