[Trubmeisters] December Meeting Notes Date: 2002-12-06 10:52 The crowd was average sized last night. We missed a few of you, but that left more beer for the rest of us. Thanks Ken for letting us meet your dogs and see the little wingless bats. Your hospitality was appreciated. Ken remodeled his basement just for us. He had new paint and carpet. The carpet was so cool. As you walked on it, it slipped just a little under your feet. It was like walking on ice. Just imagine how much fun it got after a few drinks! On to the beverages: black Muscat -> Surprisingly good. Just a little musky. blackberry (cabernet I think) ->This was excellent! I want more. strawberry (Merlot I think) -> Good if you like strawberries. 3 yr old mead w\cranraspberry -> So sweet and syrupy. Perfect age for drinking it. beefeater -> Who'da thunk it? Boil a pot roast and make beer from the juice! I liked it a lot. porter -> Right on for style. A little sour. Better finish it off this week. I'll be over to help. ;-) pils -> I think the same one from last month? kens lager -> Beautiful label on the outside. Nice lager style. 2 more kegs -> Hmmmm... I'm losing it, I know there were 2 more kegs sitting there, but they must have been yellow beer, so I didn't drink more than one glass. cranberry holiday -> Ken had his holiday beer out. Good each year. chocolate stout from San Francisco -> My wife was forced to spend a week there. She returned with samples of the local fare. Food: chips dip salsa -> The dip was seafood. Good too. crackers cheese -> Lot's of crackers and cheese and sausage. chicken wings -> The feathers were all removed. It makes them easier to catch. candy -> That glass looking candy stuff. Always good, and a nice touch for the holidays. Ken brought out his latest wine bottle label example. Very nice, and professionally made. He even has plastic shrink-wrap on the top. I had to start reading it before I realized it wasn't a commercial wine. We had a visitor. I missed his name, but was told he is the family youth minister at that church. You gotta love a church that promotes beer drinking among it's leadership. ;-) Welcome to our little club, and don't worry, we're really normal people when not together. Dan's t-shirt this time was "Beer is fun in a can". Some day he will run out new slogans and have to wear the same one twice gain. It was surprisingly quiet at the parsonage until the jews demanded we surrender to them. I hadn't seen such a mild night with these people in years. Then around 8:30, someone yelled "Free the Jews!". All hell broke loose at that point. There was gun fire and hand grenades. In the end, only the most stubborn of debaters remained while everyone else moved into hiding in the back room. Being the antagonist I am, of course I kept feeding the frenzy when things seemed to settle out. It was a great debate, and we all decided that no one was allowed to agree with anyone else anywhere in the world forever. There was plenty of beer discussion, and some much more relaxed conversation too. I do not recall hearing any good jokes. But I can tell you about my nephew's ex-girlfriend. Seems she decided to rob someone at gun point. I hear many high school drop outs do that from time to time. At least she wasn't with my nephew this time! So the next night one of my relatives asked me if I had heard about it, and when I said what I heard, they said, but you didn't hear that it was an Amish family they robbed. Well, I guess I was so busy laughing, that they didn't have time to tell me more. The next day someone else wanted to know if I had heard, and when I said it was hilarious they would rob an Amish family, they proceeded to tell me they had to visit 3 families before they found anything worth taking. That had me on the floor. I couldn't stop laughing. But there is more ... the next night, when it comes up with yet another relative, I get the rest of the story. It seems the first 2 families had nothing to give them. But the third one said he would write them a check. So they took it! Can you say Future Darwin Award winner? They had to haul me away, because my side busted open at that point. On Friday the 13th, we are all going to MacCarthys for food, drink, and entertainment. The place is located in Saukville just one block north of Hwy 33 on County I. It's on your left heading north. Just a county pub looking place. Nothing fancy. You can't miss it. Again, we need reservations, so send me an email by Tuesday if you want to go so I can call in. They have limited seating. If you want just dinner, we'll order by 8:00 PM. Show up at 7:30 for drinks first. If you just want the drinks and entertainment, come by after 9:00. We should be done eating by then, and you can join us for drinks and the all the Irish entertainment you can stand. Some people were talking about a prime rib party last night. I'm not sure just what the plan is, but I think they want to do some kind of picnic. Stay tuned for more details. Next month is at Brian and Betty's place. Please take notice that no palestinians are allowed. If one shows up, they will be shot at the door, hung by their testicles (or whatever else may be found in that nearby area), and placed in the front yard as an example to all the other evil non-people in the world. The meeting is on SATURDAY, not the usual Thursday. This is the combination of the Anniversary of Brian's Shackling and our monthly beer club meeting. There will be a fired works and wild carousing. You are required to attend. Dress is black ties for men and leather for the women. You choose what to cover with the black tie. See you all next month. And remember, everything I write is a lie! Especially this last paragraph. A Good Beer To All, And To All A Good Beer! Jeff Kane
