[Trubmeisters] TervAle Brewery Date: 2002-06-07 11:09 The Trubmeisters had a tour of the TervAle brewing site. It was very exciting indeed. I missed the first 3/4 of the event, so did not get to see much, but I am told everyone enjoyed it. There was plenty of beer as usual. I also missed the Tales From The Northwest Territories. But did get to sample a couple brews from the adventure. They were all pretty good. I saw three kegs and at least 2 coolers full of beers. There was a growler in the house and a bottle on each table. Must have been some great tasting before we showed up. Sorry I missed it. They did leave me some back-wash from each brew. Such great friends these people are. :-) We had most of our core crowd. George's wife had some excuse for not showing up. We are used to that by now. Elect a new President (behind the current one's back), and she does not even show up to fulfill her duties. Then again, what does our current one do anyhow? The food was great as usual. Sue and Jim had some Gumbo on the stove and cornbread muffins to go with it. Both were great. I really like cornbread, and couldn't stop eating it. :-) There were some crackers and cheese also. Katy made some bread crumbs that had absolutely no garlic on them. (Or so I was told.) But somehow she still managed to make them taste like garlic. I can't help but think I was misled! There was the usual dog show. They even had a race to see which dog was faster. I think it was fixed, because the owner was the only one who bet on the winner. George made everyone put their names on pieces of paper. He is selling those names to email spam companies as we speak. Last night he had Katy draw her name out of the pile so she could win a door prize. I guess she felt guilty about drawing her own name, and called out Steve Shapson's name as an alternative. He won a T-shirt from some hard liquor company. Skkyyyy or something weird like that. George is studying Africani this week, so don't be surprised if he jumps in with some words of wisdom none of us understand at the next meeting. I guess that is a requirement of all Miller Employees now that South African Brewing owns them. Then again, George always has some words of wisdom none of us understand. Hmmmm... Next month is our annual "Let's Go Up North And Drink" meeting. Ok, so it's the first annual. The party can only be better than it was last year. There is plenty of room for everyone somewhere, and I am told that if the moon is in new phase, clothing will be optional. If there is a full moon and clear sky, there will be appointments made by committee to control who get's to be clothing optional, and who is required by club by-laws to remain fully covered. Note that it is not the first Thursday as normal. It is July 12th through the 14th. We are meeting at Janet and George's as soon as traffic lets us get there Friday evening. Everyone is welcome to stay till Sunday sometime. You are welcome to camp out if you like. Let George know if you are going. See you all next month. Enjoy your 4th of July celebrations.
