[Trubmeisters] May meeting notes Date: 2001-05-04 08:09 I finally made it to a meeting! Unfortunately, this was my third night in a row that had an event involving beer. I only sampled a couple of the brews supplied. But, I can tell you Steve's counter was covered with bottles. The assortment was wide ranging. We had a small crowd this month. I guess the spring bug is biting people, and they have better things to do than hang around with a bunch of old beer makers. We were graced with the presence of some old members / traitors. Cheryl and Bill showed up! It was great to see them again. Cheryl is not the same person she was. As a matter of fact, she is 2 people. :-) I didn't catch exactly when the baby is due. Can you believe she will be a mother? I think she will do a great job. Speaking of mothers. Our other regular couple Scott and Julie are also bringing a future homebrewer in this dry, thirsty world. Congratulations to both couples. It was fortunate that Steve had some orange soda made. It was the hit of the party. With all the non-drinking women, and people like me who were beered (is that a word?) out for the week already, the soda was a refreshing choice. It went great with the bottle of wine even. Yes, there was some wine again. Live with it, and quite wiiiiine-ing. The grilled pizza was excellent. There was a wide choice of toppings, so no 2 were the same. That made it difficult not to pig out. If they all had been the same, I would not have had to taste every one. Of course at my weight, 10 lbs. of pizza is just a drop in the bucket. :-) Without George there, and Betty had to leave early due to not feeling well, there was no organization at all. Not that there is when they ARE there either. With no executive decisions, and no coup attempts, it was just the normal eat, drink, and be merry event. Betty, get better soon. George, you have to share that bird you shoot at the next meeting. I was getting worried that this group was mellowing out, when the brew must have kicked in and they started doing prank phone calls. That is a new event as far as I know for the club. But it sure beat one of the other options. Steve must have forgot to order the dancing girls, and I couldn't find a table that could support my weight, so no nude dancing. (Darn for part 1, and Yeah for part 2.) I was looking forward to the tips for putting it back on. Of course, Betty did not believe we were the Mequon Police, and even if we were, she said we could keep her husband. They threatened to call my wife next, but couldn't decide what to call her. (bud-um-bum) It was a nice little gathering. Too bad if you missed it. Come to the next one. You will get an email in a couple weeks giving the location. If not, just follow the string of cars with Cornelious Kegs in them. A Good Beer to All, and to All a Good Beer! Jeff Kane
